ASX-listed Vintage Energy (ASX:VEN) reports its planned commissioning of the Vali gas field facilities is now expected to occur in January next year due to recent weather events disrupting pipeline installation work and limiting access to the site.
The commissioning of the Vali gas field facilities was originally scheduled to commence in December this year with first gas to follow later in the month, however bad weather has pushed this back until after the Christmas-New Year break.
It is reported that forecasts indicate the works required for handover are unlikely to be completed prior to the year-end break for field contractors commencing 22nd December this year, work is scheduled to resume around 4th January next year.
However, trenching works are reported to be nearing completion on the main export Vali-Beckler pipeline and it is further reported that installation of the pond liners are now complete.
The completion of both of these workings has warranted the commencement of installation of the Fiberspar pipe, as well as the placing of the concrete footings.
In addition, work that is scheduled to take place leading up to 21st December this year is expected to focus on installation and testing of all flowlines and the construction of key infrastructure to aid in the commencement of the commissioning as soon as operations resume in January next year.
